I am pretty easy going. I do have de novo MBC so sometimes I worry that sharing my story might “scare” early stagers…but genuinely I find that everyone I meet in this community is so supportive.
Zenaida, 63, NJ
I feel most special, seen, and valued when other women reach out to me for prayer, advice, or simply a safe space for non-judgmental listening. To me, there is nothing more beautiful than being part of a small, supportive community where we can share our struggles and successes. When one falls, the other is right there to pick them up—because when you are at your most vulnerable, including myself, that is when you need a non-judgmental ear and a sincere embrace to comfort one another.

When folks don't treat me a specific way based on just one thing they see or know about me (for example, a mom, a cancer patient or survivor, or stereotype based on my ethnicity or other sociodemographic characteristic, or job).
Mai-Yan, 45, CA
When people say thank you, appreciate thoughtfulness and laugh at my jokes ;)
Jennifer, 48, NY
I am more introverted and like one-on-one interactions. I like being active and outdoors (when it's not too buggy). I try to be helpful when I can.
Angela, 46, MI
Acts of service. I am the type of person that will always move forward, even when I don’t really have the strength. When others offer me assistance or kindness, I feel that someone has noticed. I’m introverted and stubborn, so I am not great at asking for help, even when I really need it.

Really good listeners. The ones who can hear my insecurities when I'm not saying them, and validate me anyway.
